Hi, I just shot this gun today for the first time. It's a real dandy for certain, but for a few vexing issues. I'm not new to the 1911, but new to the Commander-sized barrel and the 10mm cartridge so if there is someone on here that can help out, I'd be much obliged.
1) I can load 9 in the mag but if I drop the slide on a full mag, it will jam/FTF. If I load 8 or less it's fine. Is this a mag spring too tight or a recoil spring too weak?
2) The brass is ejected 12-15 feet away and has significant extractor marks on the rim. Internal extractor too stiff? Wrong profile?
3) From the bench I had no FTF but free handed it FTF's a lot unless a death grip used. Is this just limp-wristing this snappy cartridge or again an issue with recoil spring?
4) The Trijicon night sights are burned out. We can't carry in Canada so is there a better set of fixed or adjustable sights someone can recommend?
Thanks to any help here!
