When it comes to "Quirky" films, I enjoy almost anything by Tim Burton. I also enjoy Wes Anderson... Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, The Darjeeling Limited, The Royal Tenenbaums.

Perhaps my favorite "bad / quirky" movie is The 5th Element. :)
 
"From Dusk 'Till Dawn" Who can forget Salma Hayek and the albino python ;)
Be forewarned though all you George Clooney haters-he's in the movie also but he DOES use a revolver.

Also "Pulp Fiction"
I like Quentin Tarrentino films.
 
"Man Bites Dog" - quite controversial when it came out, actually was banned in 33 countries or thereabouts. Still legal in the U.S.

"Romeo is Bleeding" - always nice to see Gary Oldman go over the top

The uncut version of "True Romance" - Oldman over the top again, the legendary "dueling Brandos" scene with Dennis Hopper and Chrisopther Walken, and Val Kilmer as the hallucinated image of Elvis... Now that's a movie. Even Balkie from "Perfect Strangers" and a young Brad Pitt are along for the ride.

"The Way of the Gun" - a bleak picture, but you get to see the proper and slick use of the 1911.

"The Thing" from 1982, rapidly becoming a legendary "guy status" film. Have a bottle of J&B while you watch.

"Natural Born Killers" - "Be your dad Woody" was what Oliver Stone told Harrelson during the production. At the time Harrelson was best known as the doofus bartender on Cheers. His father was actually a contract killer, and may have shot JFK. The always strange Juliette Lewis was along for the ride and Tommy Lee Jones shows up as well.

"Love and a .45" - just an amusing little film

"Bottle Rocket" - got the Wilson brothers their start and got James Caan out of retirement.

"Surf Nazis Must Die" - once legendary for its strangeness, now just a foot note, but still a compellingly strange film.

"Caligula" - you'll never look at Malcolm McDowell the same way again.

"A Clockwork Orange" - just to complete your Malcolm McDowell experience.

The 1970s "Dillinger" with Warren Oats and Ben Johnson, where John Milius ("Red Dawn" et al) did his best to recreate the magic ambience of the "Wild Bunch".

And if you haven't seen it, "The Wild Bunch". William Holden's last great movie. "If they move, kill 'em".
 
Quirky would be "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes", "Mars Attacks" and "The Rocky Horror Picture Show". All 3 are classics !!!
 
Don't know if it really quirky, "Rustler's Rhapsody". a comedy western with Tom Berrenger as the hero, who never draws first and only shoots people in the hand. And Andy Griffith as a light in the loafers cattle baron.

Harlan Pepper: I used to be able to name every nut that there was. And it used to drive my mother crazy, because she used to say, "Harlan Pepper, if you don't stop naming nuts," and the joke was that we lived in Pine Nut, and I think that's what put it in my mind at that point. So she would hear me in the other room, and she'd just start yelling. I'd say, "Peanut. Hazelnut. Cashew nut. Macadamia nut." That was the one that would send her into going crazy. She'd say, "Would you stop naming nuts!" And Hubert used to be able to make the sound, he couldn't talk, but he'd go "rrrawr rrawr" and that sounded like Macadamia nut. Pine nut, which is a nut, but it's also the name of a town. Pistachio nut. Red pistachio nut. Natural, all natural white pistachio nut.

The first one (since it's basically a series), The Evil Dead, is one of my favorites! I think the fact that it was made on such a small budget ($375,000) and was essentially a few people with low end film equipment making a film in the woods makes it interesting to me.
 
President's Analyst with Jame Coburn

A hilarious and in some ways prophetic film. Really captures many of the themes and paranoia's of the late 60's. Many of which are still true today. And a device that what was an unimaginable technological goal then is almost reality today... The Cerebrum Communicator
