R.I.P Charles Clawson

Mr Charles Clawson passed away late last week. Chuck wrote the book on the military and civilian 1911 & 1911a1. He was also a great collector of military long arms.

His books are very hard to find and expensive when you do.

God speed Mr Clawson you were a true gentlemen and will be greatly missed.

Sadly, I am unfamiliar with Mr. Clawson's work but after your kind words I am going to remedy that.

Amen to that, Mr Clawson always took the time to stop by and answer any and all questions we ever came up with...true gentleman

He died on April 24, 2015, at Lafayette, IN. He wrote "Colt 45 Service Pistols, Models of 1911 and 19111", the best reference book on these pistols. He was 83 years old. He was a veteran of the Korean War and had spent 38 years as an airline pilot, retiring in 1993. A great man; he and his works will be missed.
