Rack 'Em Up!! 44 Magnum Style

I love the 29's and 629's....fortunately I prefer the full lugged models and the slab sides (not nearly so many of these made).....so in the process of tracking down a 629-3 on gunbroker....hopefully I can get one for under $2K I'm looking for a shooter not a showpiece!!!!

Wow, they've gone up that much in the last few years? I bought my 6 1/2" barrel -3 Classic for around $800 off GB in late 2014. It was a low round count gun with box and unused tools too. I love the interchangeable front sights and have replaced the red ramp sight with the gold bead patridge sight.

I looked at you image and was going to comment but I started to stutter so much I couldn't say anymore! LOL

You win! having that felt background is like having all your guns in one shadowbox display:)

You are about due to have a custom 44mag built for you since you seem to have all the stock inventory on hand!
Sweet ..................and Hedley's snicker is perfect for the glamour shot:)
Nice!

Karl

Those are some really nice 44s, Tin Knocker! They look fantastic!

All I have is one 629-3 Classic and it's just a really sweet shooting revolver. I brought it out to the range today along with my 627 Pro and my daughter brought her 27-3 I just gave her Saturday and got them all really dirty today. I put over 200 rounds downrange with the 629 myself. BTW, my daughter also shoots my 44 too and ain't skeered of it either! :D

It's great to hear that others are getting their daughters out shooting
the Big guns too. When my two daughters have time to go to the range with me they remind me to bring the .44's :D

A couple of months ago I went to the range and three lanes over I noticed an older gentleman with was apparently his grand-daughter. There were two beautiful 8 3/8" 29s laid out in front of them. I overheard the man tell her, "Just think, the first gun you ever shot was a 44 magnum." It brought a tear to my eye!!

Geeze.... And I started my granddaughter out on a chipmunk, or cricket, or whatever those things are called. Bought it from a guy at the barbershop, and thought it was the way to teach gun safety. Single shot, .22, bolt action, really cool little rifle, and boy, I wish I'd of had one when I was just a little guy!!! The first gun I shot was my uncles 12 gauge long tom single shot shotgun. Yikes!!

Best Regards, Les

Looking more closely, I must say "ah h'ain't seed a 3" '97ish 629 afore." Not that I've been looking.

"Bordello" class IHMSA! Was a real entry at the championships this year. I think it's BB targets on the Field Pistol course. But you can't adjust sights once shooting for score starts. Might be fun with the 3" 629s. (4" barrel max for revolvers.) Could possibly be an option at Little River if we work out things right. That side of the range isn't heavily used.

I just bought my first today ...

42 0z Model 69

That's the loaded weight. Do you guys think it will kick more than my AirLite Titanium/Scandium .357?

I haven't fired it yet but bought some Magtech 44 REM-MAG 240gr SJSP.

Should I be more afraid of firing it or having to buy a pool table to exhibit the collection?

My Model 69 hasn't been objectionable, recoil-wise. Not that I fire much factory ammo, except to make brass. It sure doesn't peel off skin like the wee 340PD.

Model 69 first firing ...

I put the first 5 rounds through the model 69 yesterday and must say it recoils with authority. The CT laser grip is a harder plastic than the CT grip I put on my AirLite. That laser has an air channel over the backstrap that helps a lot.

Shooting offhand from 10 yards produced a group I can cover with my hand. Next up will be shooting from a rest to fine tune the sights and the laser.

Mr. 75Vette, I'm not an Ironworker from Local #10 KC, Mo. but have many friends and brothers in that local... I am ( was*)a proud old specialty laborer (Haz/asbestos/lead)out of Laborer's Local #264 KC, Mo. and I durn sure am impressed with your collection Mr. Tinner.

Heck I only have two .44's... my old carry guns, a blued S&W mod 29 4" & a Charter Bulldog .44spec snubnosed...whenever I make noises about getting another 29 or X frame .460, my lady wants to know how often I shoot the big bores I have now... Mr. Tinner, your lady must be very understanding....congrats again on a great group bro.
