We had one of the wettest Mays on record here in NEPA. We went from having a rainfall deficit to being well above average. It is a good thing in a way. The threat of drought has been eliminated, and the rash of brush fires we had in April are a memory.

The downside is flooding. Honesdale PA, the county seat of Wayne County, and what I consider to be my hometown, got hit very hard earlier this month. So did other areas. It was raining very hard early this morning, and the NWS issued a flash flood warning. My pager has been quiet, thank God. I have it set on Wayne County dispatch, and no calls, so far.

I'm supposed to drive in a parade in Pittston, Luzerne County, this afternoon. Hopefully it stops raining by then.

Not complaining. Better than a drought with lots of brush fires, and I don't have to shovel and plow rain.

Enjoy your weekend folks.

Ditto. 9.93” so far this month (May, 2025) in Western Maryland.

And it’s raining now. 😳

Communities west of me got flooded earlier in the month. Tremendous damage but no lives lost.

Have never seen this much rain; last summer had drought conditions.

Be safe.

My part of western Tennessee has had an abundance of rain this spring as well. My bride & I recently returned from a week's worth of travel - checking the rain gauge, I was surprised to see that we'd received over 4.5" in the seven days we'd been gone!

We went from a “brown HOA violation” dry lawn to needing to build a boat in a couple weeks. Weather is mostly feast or famine in lots of spots. Joe

I'm in WV just south of the PA line and west of MD and it seems like since March for every day of sunshine next comes 5 days in a row of rain. Yesterday it poured and when I came home last night (in the pouring rain) our road was washing out from the ditch being dammed up in a few places and my culvert stopped up. I partially opened the culvert before going to bed.
This morning I took the tractor out and cleaned out the ditch and got the culvert fully opened. I'm still trying to clean up over 100 tree falls from high winds on Easter. Worked all day Easter with the help of a neighbor just getting the road back open.

Up here in the PNW we could use some more rain. Much of the snow pack has melted, and fire season is on the way. If the idiots would manage the forests properly.......Rant! Forecast is 90 next Saturday. But my garden will like it.

We had the wettest May on record this year. About 1.5" fell over 2.5 days. Looking at a possible 104°F today with the possibility of showers on Monday. I don't want a repeat of last year's 120°F, my electricity bill got ugly when that happened.

You people are not making me feel special about my MC trip to the Tail of the Dragon. I have rain gear but, don't want to have to use it. I leave in 7 days and hopefully the sun will show my way. But on that note, it is raining here in Colorado, a little snow up higher.

Almost 3 weeks ago we had a heckof a storm. It rained but the wind was blowing right at 90-100 mph for 35-40 ,inutes. The rain was really heavy for 6 to 8 hours. We got a years worth of rain in one night...almost 4 inches...which is about our yearly average...everything is GREEN at least for a while. Snowed up on the ,mountain...9000 ft. but the snow pack is startingto melt and thh streams(rivers?) are runing pretty high. 75 today.....Monday might hit 60. Even my dry ground is green and the prickly pears are bloming...might make prickly pear preserves this year
