I've been listing to the rain fall since 4, what a glorious sound!

Now the sun is out, and man, what a great day. Thank you Lord for the rain.

Da Monsoon in Tucson

Down the road here just north of Tucson we are off to a great Monsoon start. Five of the last seven days we have had incredible thunderstorms and it is winding up for a doozy again this afternoon. Temps are a falling, wind is picking up and the distant rumble of thunder is echoing down the mountain..... Whoo Hoo! Ya gotta love the Monsoon summers of Tucson. (o;

Yeah, Capt., we're getting similar results in Rim Country, too-awesome rainfall! If you don't live in AZ you probably think we're nuts over a little rain. The only place in the country where a chance of rain is breaking news. Never enough in the desert.

Agreed the rain is great...but the winds and lightning suck. We just got the power back on. No AC with the temp at 106 isn't fun. It was out 22 hours this time, a day and a half last week. In the last 2 weeks 37 power poles were knocked down by the high winds generated from the thunder storms. If it rains more than an hour or so the roads are flooded. Summer in the desert is never boring........
