Ramp Sight Gap

Sorry for the poor photo but this is the sight/barrel on a K22 from 1956. The sight is on top of the serrations. A bit of a set back also. This gun is all factory original.

Just like mine!

Poor sight installation done in 1969.. Doubtful you can find a factory fresh front sight to drill and mount correctly.

Since it's shooter grade, may I suggest that's what you go do with it. Beyond a rear sight adjustment I wouldn't do a thing.

I plan on doing just that. I was only curious. I get like that. If something piques my interest I like to learn about it. It's the first used gun I've ever owned. Done with this thread.

Thanks for all the input guys.

I'm bringing it in to get the endshake fixed and then go shoot it! I was only curious. I get like that. If something piques my interest I like to learn about it.

I'm sorry if I came off harsh.
You said your "bringing it in". Where is that. If "in" is Smith & Wesson, don't bother. They don't take drop offs any more. You have to ship it to them.

How do you explain the roll stamp of the words Smith & Wesson being in the same position as 4" barrels but 6" barrels they are much further forward?

Maybe it was a special stamping but I have never seen a 6" with the words set that far back.

Well, if I'm wrong, I'm wrong. Not claiming perfection. Never said any different. But you know I'll be researching it anyway....

What I did was check the barrels on 6 each 4 and 6" on gunbroker and looked at the roll stamps and compared to the 19-3 I traded to the OP (the picture I still have) and there is a difference.

Not a big deal, that gun was my smoothest shooter

I called Smith and they said to call back in October, and they would send me a shipping label.
