I picked up this Randall Model 11 with stag handle at a gun show over the weekend. The tag on it said “ON SALE $750” I walked away with it for $550

You did WELL!
That looks to be a Randall Model 11 "Alaskan Skinner". I have the same knife with a 5" blade. It's been a reliable companion and skinner since 1978 and has aided in the skinning of many, many whitetails.
You'll not only enjoy the utility of that blade, but joining the informal "Randall Knife Owners" club of fellow admirers.

Naw. It's not 99% of all Randalls that are not used but bragged about! (It's only 87.6% per the Boise Daily Post.)

As a proud 87.6 percenter, here's a magnificent and highly valuable collection of my wonderful knives that I never use:



(I do occasionally use that Cattaraugus along with a rubber mallet for those pesky tree roots in the garden but don't tell anyone..)

This is actually my fourth Randall. I’ve had a 5” Model 1 and a 5” model 5 and I still have a triathlete boot knife. The Model 1 was my first back in ‘96 and just kept it in the safe. I sold it in the early 2000’s for a nice profit. I bought the Model 5 in 2009 and safed it also. I gave to my son when he went off to college in 2017, but I don’t think he’s used it for much other than opening letters. I bought the Triathlete as a Veteran’s day gift to myself last year and it is my constant companion in my work boot.

Nice score OP. That’s a pretty good deal for a like-new Randall these days. I have two- one is just eye-candy, a Model 14 Border Patrol while the other one I have gets used, a No 10 Saltwater.

I just took a look on Randall's website and they are taking orders now for 2027! WOW - 4 1/2 years out!! I guess form their prospective that's a great problem to have!

Someday, I'm going to buy a Randall. I have long wanted one.

Sure, I have many good knives: a dozen Bucks, 7 Bokers (the German-made ones), 4 Pumas, 2 Cases, 3 Spydercos, 2 Benchmades, 2 Eye Brand/Carl Schlieper, 2 Hen-and-Rooster (old ones), 2 Gerbers, 5 Hubertus, 1 real old Kissing Cranes.

But soon, I'm gonna get real serious and buy a Randall. One with a 4.5 or 5-inch blade, stag handles, and a carbon-steel blade. The only problem is: I'd be afraid to use it! It might get scratched!

I have a model 23 Gamemaster and I'm in the (whatever) percent that do use it. I field dressed and cut up a 175# hog with it a couple of weeks ago. Fine knives. You got a good buy on yours, based on current prices.

Nice knife and a great price. I only have one Randall that I don't use. A Smithsonian Bowie. All the rest have seen field use and work quite well. The carving set works well also. I guess I'm part of the 1%.

A carbon steel 4” with stag handle lists for $485+$25 to ship. You paid a fair price IMHO.

Really nice knife. I have been keeping an eye out for my first ever Randell knife and I want it to be a Alaskan skinner. Even one lightly used as then I would not be the first to mark it up.

I really wanted a Bowie knife from them. A Raymond Thorp, Smithsonian, or Confederate Bowie knife with a sambar stag handle........any would be fine with me, but $$$$$$$$$!

I am so fortunate to have 5 of them. My good friend who died a few years ago collected them. He had over 50. He gave several out to friends before his death. He gifted me one and his daughter later gave me a second one that was his personal one with his name on the back of the shieth.
My brother was a huge custom knife collector along with owning many commercial knives as well. He left me the remainder of his collection when he passed a couple of years ago. He and his wife had sold a bunch before he died. Among the knives were 3 Randalls. One of them I had given him for christmas in about 1980. Now I have it back!
