I took three guns to the range today. Mrs gets her hair done across town and I drive her, and have a couple hours to kill before she's done so I took a 32 Regulation Police Target, 32 Hand ejector snub, and a Model 29 no dash to the range to shoot. It was warm and sunny, so nickel sights on the snub were glaring. All shots at 50 feet.

Still, I shot the 32 snub better than the RP target. First target is the 32 target, loooks kinda like a 12 gauge with buckshot.

No target for the snub, but at least those shots were in the black.

And then the Model 29 with magnum reloads, second target ...obviously better sights and a smoother trigger helped.

Oh, and the fourth picture is the box of wadcutters I thought I'd use to show how accurate the 32 target could be......put those back in the box to get bullets put in them. Note to self buy some 100gr wadcutters.

All in all, I had fun, but the small sights and stiff trigger on the I frame target is my excuse for the day. And old eyes.

I know that none of you have ever had a day where you shot this poorly, so you can gloat if you wish.

Everyone has different skill levels for shooting otherwise it will be a 195 way tie for the Gold Medal in the Olympics.

Also that is why they have classifications, High Master, Master, Expert, Sharpshooter and Marksman.

Good shooting especially a snubby at 50’.

I'm a used-to-be shooter----a looooooooong time ago---and came to be at least a few notches above average---even pretty good on a good day. From that perspective, my first thought when I saw the fliers was an inconsistent grip---perhaps best defined as holding the gun without thinking about it. If you believe you might be doing that, don't do it anymore.

Everyone has a bad day.
If it's just an off day, there is at least the chance to learn from the experience.

Don't feel too bad.
A little over a month ago, there was the ISSF International World Cup, the biggest shooting event in the world. For men's 50 Free Pistol, the U.S.A. came in second and third LAST place! They couldn't even break 500 out of 600 points. Towards the end, the one guy was barely holding on the target.
Now, THAT'S a bad day!

Anyone can post pictures of a perfect target. All of us have days where it seems like we can't miss, and those days where it seems the worms in the dirt tremble with fear of being shot. not to mention the cow roaming one mile away over the hill. Anyone that tells you every range time they shoot like John Wayne I would not trust...

The older you get the closer together the bad day get.
When we were younger my brother and I tossed rocks in air
And shot them. Now I leave them lay on ground and shoot them.
My excuse is it hurts to bend over to get them.

Never could warm up to my I frame 22/32 Heavy frame.

Hated the trigger pull and the tiny sights.

I do shoot my model 35 pretty well but not K22 well.:D

I wonder if the coil spring design is that much improved.

No gloating here. I've shot worse.

When I was much younger, I'd go shooting with my dad, and he'd tell me he could shoot much better with a scoped handgun.

I didn't get it then, but I do now. That's why I put a red dot on my Ruger Mk.II!

I really don’t get it. You went to the range and shot.
OK it might have been better to be a target than the space around the target.
You went to the range, that is a good thing right?
Did you buy the wife a gun or maybe something as silly as supper afterwards?
To me this is win win, maybe next time the target will be in danger, let’s hope.
Time with the wife and time at the range. I am giggling like a schoolgirl.
