Range Day!!

Good Morning,

It's 49° at present, with perfect shooting weather predicted for today. Mid to high 70's with not much wind.

I got the trimming done yesterday, and spent the remainder of the day in recovery. :-(

So today is fun day, 22's, 9 mm, 45 cal, and a 12 gauge are on the program. All need function tests and I have volunteered!!

We have a Freeze Watch in effect. Never seen anything like this.

FREEZE WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGHWEDNESDAY MORNING...

* WHAT: Near or Sub-freezing temperatures are possible.

* WHERE: Portions of central, eastern and southwest Arkansas.

* WHEN: From late tonight through Wednesday morning.

* IMPACTS: Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above- ground pipes to protect them from freezing.

Ugh. Stupid day job means no range for me. It’s a balmy 16 degrees right now but should warm up to almost 40 so it would be a nice day for it.

I usually shoot on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The indoor range is just under 2 miles away, and the outdoor one is about 10 miles. Weather generally dictates which one I go to and today is looking like an outdoor day.

I can't think of many better ways to spend time on a nice day outdoors than at the range.
