Range Report: New M&P FS 9mm

I bought a new M&P full-size 9mm pistol on an online auction this week. The seller was local so I've already picked it up. I have the M&P .40 FS but wanted the 9mm and couldn't pass it up for less than $400. I already had a few 9mm magazines for it.

My wife and I took the M&P 9 to the range this morning and put 10 rds of 9mm NATO and 35 rds of WWB through it. Reliability was 100%. Accuracy was good. I'm very pleased with it.

The M&P .40 was born just before they supposedly upgraded the triggers. The 9mm was born 8/13. Honestly, I can't tell the difference in them yet. I like the stock triggers well enough.

I have the 40 and just swap in the 9mm barrel/mags when I want the 9. Been 100% with both cals. Sweet shooter either way.

Honestly I want a newer upgraded M&P. I traded my M&P40 for a G19 Gen 4 and dont really regret it. But damn do I miss the ergonomics (after 500 rounds in a row it hit me lol)

I'll probably grab a new 9mm when I have the cash. I'm kinda kicking myself for not having it on hand for black friday.


The newer M&P's I tried in store had a better trigger than older pro series m&p's. the trigger reset was also very good (my M&P40 trigger was terrible in comparison).

I'd be sold if S&W came out with a Glock 19 Sized M&P. (Not a fan of the SDVE)

I shot the M&P 9mm with 25 more rounds of WWB this morning. Accuracy was good when I did my part, and feeding and ejection was 100%.

The trigger must be the upgraded type. It has already worn in nicely after only 70 rounds other than the initial grittiness. The trigger pull and break is about as smooth and light as you would want or expect in a defensive pistol.

I bought a fs 9mm and cleaned it and went to the range...burnt 125 shells threw it pretty accurate....no issues ...but it shoots 2 inches to the left....so i made the adjustment.....I just love the beast...great trigger and set....Rusty

Another 25rds of WWB 9mm through the M&P FS that is the subject of this thread. Flawless feeding. I shot it a little left. Feels great in the hand. Recoil is light. Very pleased with my purchase.
