Took the pistol out for it's first outing, had 100 rounds-50 Winchester white box and 50 Blazer Brass both 230gr fmj.

As I've stated previously I'm not much of a da/sa fan. Most of the past 44 years have been spent shooting 1911s and S&W revolvers. I always shoot my revolvers da but it's a different trigger stroke-at least for me-compared to a semi's da first shot. Regardless the short story is I love this pistol!!! So much fun to shoot. I did have an issue picking up the front sight, actually thinking of just replacing it with a bright dot along the lines of Trijicon's HD sights-to be determined.

I always start at 10 yards. The first target is the first 7 rounds, don't remember which brand of the two, all fired double action decocking between each shot. I did ok. The second target is also at 10 yards first shot da, the next 7 were sa. I did a little better. Finished out the rest of the rounds running various drills with the target turning to face me after random behavior from 5-15 yards.

Truly had a lot of fun shooting this big heavy pistol. Minimizes the .45 recoil. Once I figure out what I'm going to do about the sights it will definitely rotate into a house gun role but mostly a range gun because it's so much fun (have I mentioned that before?)! Thanks for reading.

First mag

Second mag (aim point was right above the top right hole in the above target), first da shot is the high one:

Sounds like you've got a good pistol. You're absolutely right that the steel frame soaks up the recoil from .45ACP. The steel frame S&Ws are a pleasure to shoot. 4567 isn't a carry gun, but for range use and home defense it's nearly perfect. The trigger reset is also extremely short, making follow up shots really quick.

The 4567 is a Lew Horton exclusive, they contracted with S&W to produce a few unique models only they would sell. Its the only factory two-tone 45 third gen.

I bought my 4506-1 from a retired LAPD Metro officer and it one of my favorite guns. I had the slide sent back to Trijicon to re-lamp the night sights, and thinking of sending it off to BMCM or S&W Performance Center for a complete overhaul like they did on my 6906 and 66-1

I had one of the Lew Horton 4567's , 1 of 14 according to a letter . I bought it here years ago , it sat until I made an offer , NIB . It had the blue LH post card in it and I finally called CS and they said yes , it's a LH . I ended up selling it , but I tripled my investment . The member also had a NIB pre-39 which I turned down and I regret that one .

Good shooting sir, I wanted to blast some of my 45 3rd gens but never got the chance this weekend...

Next weekend the 4566TSW get range time and the 945. Hopefully I can stack the shots.

Best wishes with Trijicon they take forever nowa days, we'll worth the wait, my 3rdgen night sights glow brighter than anything I have....
