I went back to my LGS late afternoon yesterday and purchased the New .380M&P Shield EZ and this morning took her to the range. As I said yesterday I'm a revolver guy since the 70s. .357magnums only(my daily carry is a 640 Pro) so this is my first automatic firearm. I read the manual and ask a couple of questions of long time auto owners. I have the model without the manual safety since the grip safety in my mind was enough and I wanted an auto that was point and shoot like my revolvers. Well, Smith Does Not disappoint with the .380 M&P Shield EZ. For a guy that has only shot maybe 6-8 rounds from a friend's Colt Delta Elite 10mm and no other automatic in his life I was amazed. She's a fun gun to shoot. I had No problems at all putting 80 rounds of 95gr FMJ thru her. She has only a 5 pound trigger pull and I felt that the little recoil she had felt like it was less than a .38 special thru my 640 Pro. She field stripped effortlessly since this was my first time cleaning an auto too. The magazine thumb slide makes loading a breeze and the magazine is numbered on each side so you can't make a mistake loading the 8 round clip. No guys, Smith is Not paying me to say these things. For a revolver guy that brought his first automatic and can shoot 8, 9, & 10 rings at 20 feet first time out at the range I now feel I have my Perfect Concealed Carry Pair. My 640 Pro Series .357 magnum and my New M&P .380 Shield EZ. It's kinda like a Mounds and Almond Joy candy commercial. "Sometimes you feel like a nut (.357 magnum)sometimes you don't."(M&P Shield. 380 EZ.)
