Range report

Had a beautiful day and a great time at the Range yesterday. My wife and I were able to get to our favorite range at Moss Branch and shot lots of 9 mm in our Shields, and a few hundred 22's in my old Marlin Mod 80, the Ruger Mk II, and the Ruger 10/22.

All of the firearms will shoot much better than we can hold but we both shot better than I expected. Throw in a simple but delicious picnic lunch in the mix and it was a good day. We are so blessed.

Here in PA it was over 60 degrees yesterday which is really unusual for February, so I also had to hit the range. I was somewhat surprised that I was the only one there on such a nice day but that's probably because I'm retired and a lot of folks were at work, like my son who would have been with me otherwise.

It was so nice I spent a couple hours and shot 3 different 9 mm pistols, my AR 15 and my 15-22. Since I had the place to myself I spread out and set my tarp to catch the brass at one bench where I was shooting the 9's and 223's while shooting the 15-22 from another bench since I didn't need to collect that brass.

It would be hard to imagine a more enjoyable afternoon.

Very glad for the both of you to be able to get out in some nice weather to do some shooting and to have a nice Picnic !!

Always nice to get rid of some of the rust and get back into it to re-educate the body and mind on putting ammo down range.

I woke up to 12 degrees this morning, so the outside range will have to wait a while before I get out there again...............

Way to go.

In IL we had a 60+ day on Sunday and got several friends together and shot 3 rounds of Trap. Hadn't shot trap since about last July when we transitioned to Skeet. Have a Charity shoot 100 round shoot coming up in March, I need more practice.

I love trap, mostly from the back fence and doing Aniey Oakleys
with a 3 dram 7 1/2 load but now those full loads are catching up with me with the O/U and I am doing a lot more 16 yard light loads and 1 oz or 7/8 oz. skeet loads for my shooting pleasure, lately.

Just loaded a flat of 1 oz #9 12 Ga. at 1150fps to see what happens. I keep hoping that the stores have a special for $55 for skeet or singles, since my hulls are getting old and low in count.
