Gonna be sunny and about 45 in SW MI tomorrow, going to our hunting property to do some shooting. My son and a couple of his buddies (All early 20's). I bring revolvers and an AR, because well, they're fun! The kids will bring their plastic guns and AR's. They're ALWAYS in awe when my old revolvers come out to play! [emoji23]

These are ready to roll in the am, two M64's and my favorite 14-3. Ahhhhh, relax.

Nice revolvers for a day at the range. Have fun.

I was at the range this evening...testing out a new 3913 TSW

Facing 3-6" inches of unmentionable atmospheric phenomena and temps in 20's & 30's. I'm staying in so the idiots can block the hi-ways and find new ways to run out of talent when it's slick out.

Too bad, cause my trigger fingers itchy!

OK I'll play

I'm going to the range tomorrow morning. These will be the ones that make the trip. It'll be the first time I shoot the 19-4. It's not unfired, just unfired, by me. The 28-2 always makes me smile. And the 29-10 is as accurate as my nerve. If I don't jerk the trigger, it'll hit the bullseye every time. When I need to get back to basics, it's time for the High Standard Supermatic, as accurate a handgun as I'll ever own.

I hate going when it's busy and being surrounded by jerks with SBRs, so I took a long lunch and went today!

It was 75 and breezy, and I ran ~200 rounds thru my new 3" 629 Deluxe. I have to admit I don't shoot it as well as my 4" M29, but that just give me more reason to practice.

Hmmm, range time? I am off to the ranch tomorrow. Tree to cut away from some power lines, shed to tear down to make room for irrigation pipes.
Taking the new Ruger American 17 HMR out to thin the ground rats in a couple hay fields. Last weekend there were some burly ones out and thought I would throw the 629 in to handle the bigger more aggressive males rats.
This wildlife control will have to come during an extended break when the wife is out of sight. I can blame the noise of the 17 on locals out shooting rats on neighboring property. Not too sure how to cover the boom of the 629 though.

I'm hoping to try a few rounds tomorrow also.

Range Tomorrow

Shooting in the morning too, have been using .22 and .38 last couple of months so changing the routine for tomorrow. Not sure if jumping all the way to .44 mags (photo on right) is the best way to get reacquainted with recoil but looking to get back to some kick next few weeks. When the velocity doubles so do the group sizes, want to find a .44 special load for my M29 that shoots as well as 2.7 Bulls eye with hollow base wadcuters does in my m14.

I don't think I've been to the range on a weekend since I retired. There is about a dozen of us gray haired retired fellows that have a cookout at our range the last Thursday of the month. We feed anybody that's there. No store bought meat allowed! I don't need to keep up on the hunting rifles this time of year. Going bring to bring the 2" 36 no dash, Performance Center 626-6 Carry Comp and a Kimber Ultra Carry II. During over the span of years one gets to see and shoot quite a lot of interesting pieces these old coots bring out. The weather may be a little warmer.

Not on Saturday

I generally get out on Tuesday and Friday morning - when the family goes along, then it is on Sunday afternoon after church. When I go alone, I usually will only take one or two guns with me - the 617-6 nearly always, and then a big bore so I remember what recoil is like.
