I just installed the JP yellow springs in my 15-22 and AR15. I also recently helped my brother install new sights on his 10/22 and Buck Mark. So we decided to go to the Palmetto State Armory's new range. We had a blast taking turns shooting each others firearms. I enjoy shooting with friends but I have more fun shooting with my little brother. It reminds me of when we were little kids. We had so much fun growing up. Rarely argued or fought over anything. Best little brother one can have.

The JP springs lowered the trigger pull on my 15-22 but not by much. I did expect that because others had similar results. Wish I had bought a trigger pull gage. I also did a light polishing on the hammer and trigger. Trigger now feels smoother and breaks cleanly. Overall, I'm happy with it and I didn't have any light primer strikes. But I only shot 325 rounds of Federal bulk. Might go to the 100 yard range to do more testing.

I've had the 15-22 less than a month. So far I've fired 850 rounds, of which 325 are CCI Tactical and 525 rounds of Federal Bulk. So far 1 round FTF which was Federal bulk. Also only had 1 FTE again Federal bulk. I also had the bolt catch issue which was an easy fixed. This was the issue that brought me here. I would like to thank Tacticool22 and everyone here for the easy fix.

The JP springs and a lite polish really helped out the trigger in my AR15. The trigger was very gritty and really heavy. Stock trigger in the 15-22 felt so much better. I fired 60 rounds of PMC XTAC XP193 and 80 rounds of Federal XM193. I first fired 20 rounds of PMC and had one light primer strike. Then I fired 20 rounds of Federal and had another light strike. Fired another 20 rounds of PMC and had one light strike again. However, the next 20 and 60 rounds of PMC and Federal all shot fine. I can live with 3 light primer strikes out of 140. If the light primer strikes grow in number, I will lighten the trigger hammer. Might even get a Geissele SSA.

Yeah, I also have a better time when someone goes out shooting with me, but that only happens for me about 1/3 of the time I go shoot

Yeah that's the one. Me and brother have memberships too.

PSA has a 10% off sale. I'm really tempted to get a Geissele SSA. But I also want to make my own speed hammer. Ahhh so much stuff I want to do to the AR and 15-22.

Sometimes I like going to the range by myself. Helps me relax.

My shooting buddy's been wanting to pick up 1911 9mm, so I called him about the sale. Turns out he was there with his wife (ladies day - they shoot free), and had already picked up the Springfield Loaded 9mm. :D

Well, better two people know it than none. ;) I might top over myself.

I really want a 1911. But its not in my budget right now. I did look at the GSG 1911 .22lr at Palmetto.

Every time PSA has a good daily deal or sale it tempts me so much.

I went over with my buddy, who bought the Springfield Loaded 1911 in 9mm. I shot it and my Kimber .45, but found I was much more accurate with the Kimber (better trigger, and I'm used to it - the extra recoil doesn't bother me). I did look at a Sig Sauer P226 Tactical Operations, a 9mm that comes with four (4) 20-round magazines. A fellow there had one and was trying to talk me into it. I LOVE the trigger pull (VERY light double-action for first shot, nice light single action after that). I shot his, and loved the way it worked, but groups were larger than with my friend's Springfield 1911 (first time shooting both), and much larger than my Kimber. Plus, it shot several inches to the right, and does not have adjustable sights. Definitely the ideal (full size) defensive weapon, IMHO, but hard to justify if I'm just putting holes in paper and wanted to save on ammo costs. I can buy a lot of .45 ammo in place of 9mm for the $1100 or so.

sounds like a great time with a good brother! when i measured i also didnt get a huge drop in pull with the yellow springs but the polishing really made things a lot smoother.

what did you both think of the comparison between the 15-22 and 10/22?

definitely give the gsg 1911 .22 a look, its a great gun. i have the sig which is the same gun just rebranded for his brothers company. it led me to purchase a rock island 1911 in 9mm last night on gunbroker which im eagerly awaiting. :)

I like the 10/22 and I was going to get one. But I decided on the 15-22. I really like the 10/22 takedown and want to get one.

My brother likes the 15-22 as well and how similar it was to a AR. He really liked how easy it is to load magazines.

He also liked the trigger mods I did on both. Before I did the trigger mods, I compared his AR's trigger to mine and his was definitely better.

I was also considering the Sig. The Ruger SR22 is another .22 pistol I wouldn't mind having. I like my brothers Buck Mark. Wouldn't mind a Ruger 22/45 either. I don't know if I could trust a .22 made by Umarex. So many rimfire pistols are made by them. If I were to get a rimfire pistol right now it would be 22/45 or a SR22.

Man, firearms are more addicting than cars. I love my Subaru STI there are just too many great firearms out there.

haha ya ive been in the infiniti/nissan scene for 7 years now and since im selling my g37, my addiction is transferring over to guns so i know how you feel.

my second choice was the sr22. if it came with dot sights and was a little larger, i would have gone with it. i thought about the 22/45 lite but it just didnt have the "fun" factor for me.

at least with 1 of you having the 15-22 and the other the 10/22, you get to shoot both. ;)

My brother and I were born on the same day......8 years apart, so we have a lot in common, from guns to our taste in music.

We get out to shoot about 3 or 4 times a year and sometimes with our nephew, and older sister.....shooting with family is a lot more fun than I though it would be!!
