I have an RCBS Precision Mic in .308 that I have used for many years when I shot NRA Highpower Rifle matches.

My problem is that the markings that used to be white and very easy to read is now near non-existant.

I did call RCBS and was to that they don't offer that sort of restoration. Darn...

So, fellow forum members, what would be the best paint to use for one, and second, would it be best to use a pin or a scribe to remove all of the old near invisible paint?

Randy

First, I would use Dawn dishwashing liquid, water, and an old toothbrush. It might just be dirt over the paint. If it's not dirt, you need to clean it anyway before doing something else.

Clean it off with mineral spirits/ or acetone with a old toothbrush.

White nail polish. Brush on and wipe off it will stay in the indents

Or a small touch up paint of white epoxy

I'd go with "engraver's enamel", should be available at most any art supply store.

White grease pencil works well but if you have a white crayon laying around and you're in a hurry, it will work just as well. That's what I use to highlight the sight graduations on my military rifles.

Got a white grease pencil at Ace Hardware under $2.00
It did a great job of filling the graduations so they are again readable.

Thanks Every One!!!

Any crafts store like Roberts or Hobby Lobby and buy a white paint stick aka fill in paint.
