M&P picture thread.

I assembled this from a stripped full sized frame I got on the big auction site. I'm a huge fan of 'mid-size' so I used a 4" slide from S&W. No intention of adding an optic so I ditched the tall white dot sites and added a set of Ameriglo Protector's. Black serrated rear and tritium front. Hopefully have the maiden voyage in a few weeks.

With my PDP Compact. Love that pistol.

A lot of great looking M&Ps on this thread.
Here is my 1.5 M&P9 full-size.
It was a $289 police trade in a few years back. So it got abused for a while. Then I was looking to retire my M60 no dash from EDC duty.
So the 1.5 was born.
The beaver tail got bobbed. A 2.0 locking block and take down lever were installed. Then a new Apex barrel, Apex duty/carry trigger system, Galloway precision stainless guide rod and 20# spring. Topped of with Meprolight sights. It's feed a steady diet of 124gr +p and shoots great with them.

This is my 357SIG compact. I've had it since 2011. It came with three 10 round mags and factory Trijicon sights. I added 9mm & .40S&W barrels and additional magazines to match.
I sent the slide to Trijicon for new sights a couple of months ago. They have a very good replacement service for diminished sights.

A couple of years ago I picked up a police trade-in M&P 40c. It sat in the safe for a while then I made it my bedroom gun after buying 15 round mags and adding XGrip sleeves. Earlier this week I put it into my carry rotation. I'm also considering a Boudica Short Stroke Trigger from Galloway though removing the mag safety definitively improved the stock trigger.

Wow, Smith & Wesson is taking everything into consideration when building their new designs. I have had to alter my pieces myself. Great looking firearms!

Here's my EDC, a 1.0 M&P 40c converted to .357 SIG with a Storm Lake barrel. It had over 13,000 rounds as a .40 S&W when I converted it. It since has fired 2,900 rounds of .357 SIG without an issue. At 20 yards, the .357 SIG is more accurate then the .40 S&W. I also like its looks with the stainless barrel. A win-win!

The stainless does look cool! I have an Sig P229 that I got a 357 Sig barrel that I got when I bought it. Great round, I bounced between it and the .40 for the 15+ years I carried it. I've had to step down to a 9 because of a bad shoulder injury, not nearly as snappy as the 357 Sig or the .40 I've been a big .40 fan for years, but it's all about putting metal on target any way we can, for me anyway. Great looking EDC's here for sure.

Picked up a 2.0 Carry Comp. Impressed it came with 5 magazines at the price... 3 17rnd and 2 23rnd. Only about 100 rounds in... still evaluating if I'm going to like it better than my standard 2.0 full size.

Man I really wish I had gone with the full size, I saw them "exclusively" available thru one of the big gun stores? Plus, the extra mags?! Mine just came with the two 15 round mags. I've got the compact polymer version. I love everything else about it. But, my pinky was left hanging off. So, I ended up adding a Floyd Customs Magwell and base plate. Looks cool but now I have to buy base plates for 4 more mags. But I can get a full purchase on the gun now so there is that.

How are you liking it as an EDC? I've been carrying mine for a little over a month now, so far it's been a perfect fit for me.

It's not really a carry gun for me, definitely not in summer. I have a couple of P365 variants that fill that role with a lot less bulk.

I carried the standard 2.0 as my duty gun for the last few years before I retired in 2023. At this point, while I do carry it while performing RSO shifts at the local range, my full size M&Ps are mostly nightstand guns, and what I shoot in the local practical pistol matches. I was interested to see if the comp version provided a real world benefit in recoil reduction. Jury is still out on that regard. I'm certainly happy with it and don't regret the purchase, but I can't say 100% at this point that any improvement is more than subjective. I've got ~250 rounds through it at this point, and sometime in the near future I'll run some back to back tests on the shot timer for splits.

Got ya. Thanks for the reply. I was torn myself. I've been carrying the P229 primarily, in an IWB for about the last 15 years. I decided, because of a shoulder injury, I would step down to a 9 mm for better accuracy, more rounds, flatter and faster, hopefully. So, I was kind of use to the bulk. I decided I would give a carry comp a try, after I shot it, I was smitten. I was looking for a flat shooter, with the least amount of recoil possible, and since it was optics ready, it checked all the boxes for me.

Also, this is my very first red dot. I've been practicing non stop with it. I'm absolutely loving it.

I have kinda big mitts and I'm 6'2" and about 225-230 so the Carry Comp is a pretty good fit for me with an IWB. I'm using a Muddy River Tactical IWB holster and I have one of the "Sticky" Brand comfort pads, it made a HUGE difference in comfort and kept the bulk down too. Even in a thin t-shirt, with an optic, and the Floyd EDC Magwell with +2 plate and it DOES NOT print, at all. Especially using the claw attachment.

I live in the south, so the lighter the better. There are so many great sub & micros to have a great or several great EDC setups. We've been looking at "buying my wife a P365 Legion" I know they are catching crap right now with the 320 fiasco. But the 365's are undeniably great pistols. Had they had the 365 I wanted in stock that day AND the Carry Comp…I would have probably had to walk home that day with my TWO new guns. Lol
