Hi All
I have an old Model 28 that was reblued at some point. The job that was done was not a real good job, and its starting to show its age agin. I am thinking that I would like to get it refinished but I don't want to spend a ton of money on getting it done. I would like to get somthing like the orginal flat blue that came on the Mod 28s. Any recomdations on someone that can redo it for me at a reasonable cost?

Thank
Mudge

Refinish

Since the gun has already been reblued, you might consider having it bead blasted with the finest beads avaiable and reblue it yourself with Brownells I have done this with a prewarmed gun to achieve an egg shell finish. You could also have it hard chromed if you like the color.

I nearly bought a model 28 and had it refinished to a high gloss, but the combined cost came in over the price of a nicer 27.
Were I you, I would make it a working gun, and look for another, nicer example.

Welcome to the Forum Mudge!
If it has some sentimental value, I could see you going through the expense of a second reblue.
On the other hand, why not just sell the gun you have now and put the money toward a good used, original HP?
If you look hard and are patient, you can still find very nice ones in the $400-500 range and it will be original.
Good luck with whatever you decide - I'm a big HP fan myself.
