Re-line a Model 41 barrel

I am a Bullseye shooter with two Model 41's. I shoot Clark barrels, Clark trigger jobs and Ultradots mostly. This set up shoots 0.50 - 0.75" from a ransom rest at 50 yards with Lapua Midas+ or Eley Tenex (red box). This set up has gotten me into the 860's for a 900 match after about a year.

I like to shoot iron sights as well and I have been using the original Smith barrels both 5 1/2" and 7 3/8". These barrels are not as accurate, some shooting groups up to 2 1/2" from a rest regardless of ammo. I would like to get at least one of my factory barrels relined with say a Walther blank with the objective of getting a 1/2" group at 50 yards from a rest using whatever ammo is best. Quality workmanship and an accurate result are very important because my objective is equivalent scores or better with iron sights.

What gunsmiths can you recommend that have done many of these and can guarantee high quality and superb accuracy?

I've had two High Stanard barrels built by the master Lou Lombardi Falcon Machine. Though that was years ago he used Walther liners on his High Standard and Model 41's. His work and reputation at Camp Perry says it all. I gotta wonder if he is still around it was years ago. Walther liners.

I have heard positive things about these guys, have not used them myself but they do reline model 41 barrels.

I have heard good reports about Ten Ring also from a couple of solid competitors but it was a few years ago. Problem with the good shops doing bullseye work is turn around time. It's like all good gunsmiths or craftsmen in any trade. You wait your turn or settle for less. A good bullseye gun is worth waiting for in my opinion.

+ 1 on Alex Hamilton of Ten Ring Precision . 1/2" @ 50 yds I doubt anyone would guarantee that . Mine will put 10 Aquila SV in 3/4" @ 50yds after he did mine .
