Reacher series on Amazon Prime

It is funny to see what Hollywood thinks a town of 1700 looks like. I’ve lived in a town that size. You get a get a gas station on either end, a small grocery store, a Dollar General if you’re lucky, and the police department is usually two guys (if you even have a PD). More likely the Sheriff’s Office covers the town. Margrave looks like 20,000 or more.

I still like it though. Big Boy makes some big leaps of logic when he does his Sherlock Holmes thing.

I'm half way through the first episode. Good stuff. This season is based on Lee Childs' first Reacher book,"The Killing Floor". A good one to start with.

This is gonna be a good ride!

Watched the first 4 episodes last night. Probably the closest to the actual book that I have ever seen in a series. The "Reacher" character is far better that Cruise was.

I agree. I binge watch the first four and was pleasantly surprised.

First episode last night. My favorite scene was when the bad guy and his posse enter his cell and Reacher tells him to leave at the count of three.

Next favorite scene is same scenario, more people, in the bathroom.

Yeah, it is ridiculous, but a lot of fun!

I think the appeal is kind of an everyman, don't tread on me, just tryin' to get by so please just leave me alone thing that we all can identify with.

Well, duh!

Fun watch.

I have not read the books, but did enjoy watching several episodes last night. I have to agree with Sig220.45, that is not a town with 1700 people. Way too many nice houses. In fact, 1 would be too many.

I thought the Desert Eagle was too much also. Looked like it had 2 mags and he only took 1 with him.

Watched the first 2 episodes. Reminded me a little of Rambo when he blew into town and got slammed into a cell for basically being a "hobo".
Not bad so far....better than most stuff I have see as I made it further than 15 minutes into the first episode and am now at #4.

The motel scene..Would have preferred to see more of her body than his...easily done within tasteful guidelines...especially after the waaay too graphic scene in episode 2 with the crucified deputy. Yikes.
Found it amusing when he grabbed the knife from the tackle box...as they would not give Reacher a firearm...and when he exclaimed at the end of 2, he needs a gun! No kidding...

It's not Shakespeare but it is certainly some fun pulp fiction. Watched the first three episodes and I like it enough to keep watching.

Apparently Lee Child likes to do cameos.
Here he is processing To-Mas.
Just the other day I think I saw him down at Walmart.

Hmmm, three rounds fired from a Desert Eagle submerged at least two feet in a swimming pool. I may need to fact check that one, except I don't own a Desert Eagle to try. Anyone else want to offer up their Desert Eagle for a fact check?

If it were a Glock I'd have no doubts . . . . :)

Like this a lot. Been watching at least one episode every night. In the prison scene w/o His shirt He looks like Jack Reacher should. 6 ft 5 and around 250, wide shoulders and slim waist. Just his size makes this series better than mini-Tom could. Looking forward to the rest. I just hope it doesn't get shut down by Tom as He owns the movie rights. I know, Series is not a movie. just saying.

Just binge watched the first four episodes; it’s a keeper. Pulp fiction is a good take.

Being asked “Who’s watching the door” will not be the same again.

My wife got hooked on it and we watched the whole season.

I’m glad they stuck with one story arc per season. I was afraid it was going to be The Incredible Hulk and he would save a new town every episode.

I think season 2 is a good bet to happen.

I’m also glad its not toned down. Cussin’, blood, and nudity. Even the Tweed Tornado dropped some F bombs.

Just started it. I think they are going for that Clint Eastwood man with no name quality…kind of worked until he opened his mouth. Also, his observations on the Detective in the opening scene were kind of a stretch. Oh well, it’s Saturday afternoon and The View isn’t on so I guess I’ll give it some more time.

Anyone else notice Lee Child is the guy that walks by Reacher in the diner in the last episode? :p

Aha! Wondered who that was. We were certainly meant to notice him.

I watched all the episodes over two days, which I guess is a perk of being retired, and liked it more than I didn’t. I’m up for another season or three, but I think Reacher is always going to be a better character in print than on a screen.

Excellent tough-guy dialog when tough was called for. Excellent performances from the other main actors. Right now I vote for a spin-off series called Roscoe Conklin that I would also consume in a two-day binge. Or maybe even one.
