My best friend Jeff is making cornbread dressing to bring over on Thanksgiving when he joins Mom and I for lunch. Mom is cooking the turkey and I am making the green bean casserole. I will also be opening the Cool Whip to put on the pumpkin pie.

The crowd will be small this year.
My daughter and her family will be visiting their other in laws in South Florida.
I am still prepping the dressing and sweet potatoes. My niece will prepare
broccoli casserole from my garden. Sweet taters from the garden, too.
God has blessed us again in 2023.

We will have another empty seat at the table this year.
My older brother passed back in March. Both his children and two of his grandchildren will be with us, and we will remember him with stories and anecdotes about him.
Still using Mama's recipes for the dressing, giblet gravy, and sweet tater souffle.
I hope all y'all have as much to be thankful for as we do.

Redlevel, I don't live very far from you and my mother taught us to make it basically the same way. It's delicious smothered in gravy. Nice post.
Ruthie's mother made the best cornbread dressing and I so looked forward to holidays at her home. She is gone but her recipe lives on
