I have a rear fixed pistol sight that I need to move right.
I suspect that some one applied Red Loc Tite to hold it it place.
What is an approved method to break the red super glue free ?

Ive never heard of red super glue. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Just means that I’ve never heard of it and suspect it’s LocTite.

I have heard of red LocTite. If it is THE red LocTite, good luck. If you don’t have a GOOD sight pusher, take it, or send it to someone that does.

If it is red then it is Loc-Tite, not super glue! The sight can be moved just the same as if the Loc-Tite hadn't been used, it will take a bit more pressure though. You can heat the sight and slide, just don't over-heat the slide. I would just strike the sight a bit harder using a brass punch, or use more pressure on the sight pusher if you are using one. Red Loc-Tite is relatively easy to overcome, not nearly as hard as some believe it to be!

Only use Loc-Tite when you re-install the sight if it is loose enough that you have to. The normal way to tighten a slightly loose sight dovetail is a couple of center punch dimples in the bottom of the barrel/slide dovetail.

Red indicates red Loctite and that is the high-heat version of Loctite thread locker. Since sights are normally dovetailed, more pressure applied to the sight may break the Loctite bond. In order to melt the red Loctite, you would need to heat the sight to 500F and that's a bit much for sight and slide in my opinion.

Acetone will dissolve Loctite. I advise letting the sight soak in acetone or MEK in a sealed container for awhile (if possible-both are very volatile solvents) before trying anything more heroic. At least it is worth a try. Loctite is cyanoacrylate-based as is Superglue.

I am not a gunsmith but, I always thought the dimples should be placed on the sight. If I made some kind of error, the sight would be easier to replace than the barrel/slide.
