Hi,

What measurement does the decimal number refer to (like .146) for a rear sight blade.

If it is the width of the slot then are all rear sight blades the same total width?

Will all rear sight blades fit in any sight mount designed for this type of blade.

Thanks,
Marty

That's the blade height, and a given caliber and barrel length will have a proper blade height to match to them.

The blade height is measured by (gently) turning the windage until enough of the blade is exposed to be able to measure. Don't go too far, and if you feel firm resistance, stop. The windage screw is designed to break, (that is how you remove it to replace it). When you get a different blade, it should come as a kit with screw and nut.

Thanks for the great information.

I would never have guessed it was a height measurement, which does make sense.

I recently acquired a Model 651, no dash, 1985 mfg.

It has a red ramp front sight and a plain black rear blade. Info which I have been able to find said the 651 was ONLY shipped with plane black blades.

I really would like a White Outline blade.

I found 1 listing for a 651 with a part number 1893550A, which is a 0.101"

I found 1 listing for a 651-1 with a part number 03795000, which is a 0.086"

My question is?
Is there a White Outline blade for the 651.
If so what is its height and where can I obtain one?

Thanks,
Marty

Thank you so much for the blade chart.

My 651 is not listed, so I guess there are no blades for it.

The 651-1 does have blades listed. I will see if I can find out what the difference in rear sights are between the 651 & 651-1
