Well I finally got the courage to tackle the rear sight and it has been nothing but problems.
first, I guess I screwed the blade the wrong way and when the screw broke, I could not turn the broken screw shaft to get the rear blade out.
luckily, I just drove a screw driver tip down on the spanner nut with a hammer and created and notch. whewwww, lucked out there.
then I grab my repair kit from Brownells, and I cannot get the old detent in the screw head hole. so I grab a new one out of the bag and it wont fit in the hole either.
I do a little measuring and the hole is .05" too small, so I get out my drill to make the hole a tad larger.
then I find out the hole is too short as the detent wont go below flush, so I drill it deeper.
I go to test fit the detent, and IT WONT COME OUT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got sold a dud part and tried to fix and wasted my time!
