By "raised safety button", you're talking about the steel firing pin safety plunger in the slide, under the rear sight base, right? (Just to make sure I'm reading your posts right.

)
So, does your 5946 have room on the right side of the hammer for 1 lever or 2? They were made both ways in the older 3rd gen DAO's, and they're reassembled a bit differently when it comes to the number of levers on the right side of the frame, as well as whether or not a small coil spring is used on the right side of the frame.
If it only has room for 1 lever in the frame on the right side of the hammer (meaning the firing pin safety lever), there ought
not be a small spring under the lever. Did you put one there when reassembling the frame?
The
Spring Rule for the DAO 3rd gen's:
If the frame has room for 2 levers on the right side of the frame (to right of hammer), then a firing pin safety lever and the
spacer "sear release lever" are used, and a small coil spring goes under the levers on
each side of the hammer.
If the frame only has room for one lever on the right side of the hammer, only 1 spring is used, and it goes under the ejector on the left side of the hammer.
If the nose of the firing pin safety lever is being forced upward and catches on the firing pin safety plunger in the slide, that may mean the drawbar is pushing forward on the bottom leg of the lever. The question is
why?
Did you reassemble something in the wrong position that's causing the lever to lift?
Is the sear's tail located on the front of sear spring, as it should be? (So it doesn't catch on the bottom of the hammer and interfere with hammer positioning.)
Did you install the disconnector
before the drawbar was installed and pinned in place? In the older DAO guns the disconnector must be installed before the drawbar is installed and connected/pinned to the trigger. (Reverse order compared to the TDA guns).
Dunno and can't pretend to guess without being able look at what you're seeing. Sorry.
