Recoil of M&P 40C

My 40c is my every day carry pistol. I shoot it monthly in IDPA matches. Because of the short sight radius and snappy recoil it is not terribly competitive. I shoot it in the matches to stay proficient with the pistol that might be needed to save my life. It's not a competition pistol. It's a self-defense/combat pistol. The recoil is manageable with proper grip and loads. I agree that 180 grain is the way to go with this pistol. If recoil is more than you are comfortable with, get something else. Confidence that you can hit your target is more important than caliber.

It's all about the shooter

Came across this youtube video by hickok45 since I am still on the fence regarding the 40c. One thing is certain is the gun has very little muzzle flip. He has excellent control.

Then there is this guy. The gun flips up like he is shooting a Model 29 44 Magnum. Go to time 8:50. Not very good control. He needs more training.
