Recoil shield bushing replacement question

Would the picture below indicate that the bushing had been replaced at some point in time?

Not necessarily. Could have been an attempt at removal of a burr around the hole in the hammer nose bushing. (sometimes caused by the hammer nose) Hard to say without a close inspection. The staking ring around the bushing looks in tact and undisturbed in the photograph.

Looks like some incidental B/C gap contact on the front face of the cylinder at one point, perhaps due to end shake on the cylinder or the yoke. Also the edge or perimeter of the shroud on the entry (left) side of the cylinder opening of the gun appears to have been stoned or filed. May just be the lighting.

By the looks of the turn ring, the cylinder stop should have quite a lot of wear on top of the ball, resulting in the creation of a "flat" spot, due to wear. Can't see it though, so this is pure speculation.

Thank's Carter. I do not intend to fire it much.The firing pin looks fine, and there is very minimal cylinder movement and it locks up tight The front B/C gap is .004. What should the rear gap be?

Rear gage depends on the model....if the cylinder is non- recessed, around .064",
Recessed would ideally be around .014". (+ or minus .002")

Well, my feeler gauges start at .005, and that is a bit tight, so I would believe .004 would be a pretty good fit. As for the rear of the cylinder.067 seems to fit about just right. I checked the B/C gap on every cylinder. Sound about right?

I presume it had some work done it a while back. The fellow I got it from, cleaned and lubed it, lettered it, had it 10 years but never fired it. The lock up is tight
