Recoil Spring Compatibility

Greetings S&W fans ...

Does anyone know for certain if the recoil spring from the first gen 9mm Shield is compatible with the new Shield Plus?

Not sure about the compatibility. If you don't mind me asking, why are you wanting to change them?

I've got another post on the forum about failure to feed. Buddy of mine has a first-gen shield. As his gun has a couple thousand rounds down the pipe, figure his spring is broken in, where mine is not. Swap 'em ... see if it makes a difference.
But ... before I do a swap ... I've got 300 rounds of 124gr 9mm on hand ... gonna shoot the snot outa my shield with my spring before I try a swap. I also noticed my grip was off ... that my forward thumb on my support hand was positioned to be "riding" the slide. Gonna also alter my grip, see if that makes a difference.

I emailed S&W about this. S&W said that the recoil springs are compatible between the Shield and Shield Plus.
