Red Devils

Checking some old rooftop A/C units yesterday, about 25 or so, and it seemed every panel I removed had a wasp nest of various sizes behind it. Must have killed over a hundred of those red devils before the day was over. I hope I didn't throw the balance of nature too far off by killing those varmints. I know someone on here thinks I kill wasps just for the sake of killing. They would be right in this instance!

I go through about six cans a of wasp spray during the summer. They not only get in the outside corners of the house, but also up in the barn, woodshed, hen house, and even in the stock trailer.

I can't stand the things, especially when I'm trying to work outside and inadvertently stumble across a nest in the woodpile while I'm trying to stack wood. Believe me...that's nobody's idea of a good time!

I'm sure there's a purpose for the good Lord to have made so many of the nasty little devils, but for the life of me, I sure can't figure it out.

Their purpose is to give chemists something to do. Belt up with a can of raid in each holster and go get em pardner!

A couple of years ago we had a roof top unit that quit working. When we get on the roof we see why. Someone the night before had gotten up there and was going to steal all the copper and aluminum from the unit. They had a couple of covers off and one of them had a big nest right inside.
I hope they stung him a bunch.

I hate wasps too, got swarmed a few years ago and am now allergic to them.
I worked for a superstore similar to Wal-Mart and PM'd rooftops each spring and fall plus repaired them when they went down. I carried a can of wasp spray and loved to kill them. I'd hit the convenience outlet and venter outlet first then open doors and stand back. I never did tire of killing them either.
I am retired now but watch for them here at home. We had problems with them in the past but not for last couple years. I can't afford to get stung by them now. I develop hives all over within a couple weeks and have to take steroids to be rid of them.

i always carry a large can that can spray a good distance in my pick up . when i work on some homes you find them real fast its always where u got to do the work

Walking down a steep concrete stairway (narrow treads and high risers) a wasp flew up in my face and dropped. I knew it would land on me so if I smacked it right it would hit the ground (or step) long enough to get stomped.
In the midst of full windup I look down and NOOOooo Way! Stinger end was pumping away at least three times right on my crotch. Everything between my navel and knees contracted and then I realized the durn thing was attacking my zipper.
An ever so gentle brush of the hand and the lucky bug flew off hopefully to do no harm.
