Red dot appropriate for a $499 Sport II?

I've played with the Holosun HS510c for a day now. Totally love it for my Sport II. And here is why

$270 from Optics Planet

20,000 hour battery life, BUT there is even shake awake technology

2 MOA dot and / or 65 MOA circle. A reticle for every need.

Flush and secure QD lever

Titanium hood to take the knocks and protect the glass.

Beautiful totally unobstructed 32 x 24 recital

I'm not taking this Sport II to war, just to Outlaw 3-Gun

Drive out with Sport II, case, red dot, KAC ambi safety, and center point sling (required by my club) and it's a $1,000 total cost rig.

EDIT:

I've now had the HS510C to the outdoor range twice. This red dot is phenomenal!

Perfect Co witness, bright reticle, excellent QD Mount for the dollar (ok, it's not a LaRue like on my CompM4s and ACOG RCO)

EXACTLY what I wanted for my Sport II. $270 well spent.

I'm happy with my Primary Arms 1x20 Compact Prism sight. $250 after tax from Amazon.

Even if the battery dies, the etched reticle can be used. No need to co witness sights.

My vote goes to the Primary Arms 1-6x. Love mine, and the BDSS reticle is pretty awesome.

Bushnell recently came out with the TRS-26, a next-generation TRS-25. GREAT sight, 50K battery life, water/fog proof, very rugged, and has TWO torx mounting screws. Mount it with blue loctite on those screws and it's not coming loose. I was leaning towards the SIG Romeo until this one arrived. Price in the $120s.

Does ^^^ Bushnell have shake awake feature?

Sig Romeo 5 does have this and seems like a super nice feature. Especially for me who doesn't use the AR a lot, but want it when I need it. And having it shut down would seem like it would save the batteries for ridiculous length of time.

For all practical purposes they are the same price.

Other than shake awake, what other features would be pros and coms of these to sites?

No, no shake awake. It just comes on when you turn the brightness knob, that big knob on the upper right. No big deal, for me. The TRS-26 has a larger lens, 26mm, compared with the Romeo's 20mm. It also has two mounting screws, something you don't see very often. I've always been antsy about sights that have just one little screw securing the entire thing. They're Torx screws, so apparently you can get them pretty snug, especially with some blue loctite.
The Romeo has a slightly smaller red dot - 2MOA, compared to the TRS26's 3MOA.
The Romeo has automatic brightness adjustment when it comes on. That may or may not be the brightness you want it.
Myself, I'd go with the TRS26 because of the wider tube and the more secure mounting, but it's a very close call.

Well if you have to touch the trs26 to turn it on and adjust brightness. Whats the difference if you MIGHT have to adjust the romeo IF it is not happen to be the right brightness. Have to adjust just like the TRS26.

I am leaning to the romeo 5XDR. More common AAA battery and dual reticle options.

What is the big advantage of a slightly larger tube in most situations?

I admit I am new to both AR and red dot sites.

I have a Burris MTAC Ballistic CQ Riflescope - 1-4x24mm on my sport. It is great, fast on target. Worth the cost

I have a Aimpoint PRO on one of my AR's and a Vortex Strikefire 2 on my AR that I keep a dedicated 22 upper on.

Both work great. For the money, you can't beat a Aimpoint PRO.

I had a Vortex Strikefire 1 at first, but the power button was on the side and evey time I laid the rifle down it would turn on the scope.
