Red dot for 4006 for 67 year old eyes?

I just acquired a 4006 in near mint condition. My eyes are 67 yo and although the pistol shoots accurately the front sight and rear sight are "fuzzy". Any recommendations for a Red Dot or whatever?

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. This is not an area that I am at all familiar. thanks.

Have you tried the bifocal type safety/shooting glasses? If you wear prescription glasses already, consider getting "upside-down" bifocals (near focus on top) which a buddy of mine swears by (never tried them myself).

Or just live with "fuzzy" until it's cataract time - then make sure to figure out how you want your focus set, don't just take what the doc offers!

As for mechanical on-gun solutions, I'm not an expert, but I suspect options are limited or non-existent for a red-dot

Red dot--great for 63 year old eyes!--ask me how I know.
Get an Ultradot Matchdot. I like the small 2 moa dot (they have 4 selections) It's smaller than the bull of an NRA B2 or B3 target, so if I'm having a bad day and shooing, say, low and left, I can actually aim top right and get it centered.

Red dots are good, but not sure how you would mount it on the slide of a 4006. I think you would need to do some machining to the slide, as a red dot is basically a small scope.

Another option would be XS Big Dot night sights: XS Sight 24/7 Big Dot Tritium Express Set for Chief Special 9mm Handguns SW-0003P-5 These use a 'dot-the-i' style of night sight, but with a triple-sized front sight for fast target acquisition, and are set up to replace the existing sights without modifying the gun. Very good defensive sights, but not the best for target shooting.

As mentioned above, prescription eyeglasses from an optician that understands your shooting needs, or Crimson Trace Lasergrips.
