Did some reloading with Red Dot behind some .38 cal. Rim Rock 148 grain DEWC. Looking for a mild recoil, 25 yard PPC load. Here are the stats from a 6" K-38 shot over a rest.

2.2 grains 605 FPM 23 FPM STD 2.5" group high right
2.4 grains 660 FPM 19 FPM STD 2.5" group high right
2.6 grains 724 FPM 14 FPM STD 1.7" center
2.8 grains 773 FPM 18 FPM STD 1.2" center
3.0 grains 821 FPM 14 FPM STD 0.7" center

Groups tightened up and moved to center as the round approached the magic 810 FPM. Primers were Federal small pistol, bullets were seated to the crimp groove with a roll crimp (revolver round).

Have been intending to try that particular Rimrock bullet, and I have Red Dot on hand.. You pushed me into action. Thanks.

RD works great with lead loads in a 6" 38 special from the
target 148gr to the 158 gr.
It will not kick out the fps that Unique powder does but it
does have accurate lower fps loads but a +P 158gr is possible.

In a 2" snub nose it will actually out shoot Bullseye powder in the fps department. It is one of the faster powders that will get factory fps with the Speer 135gr Jhp bullet, in my M49.

Great powder for target loads in the 9mm also.........

I just finished loading some 38 rounds with Red Dot for my snubby. It seems to be the only powder I can get my hands on for 38 and 9mm.

125gr Rainer FMJ-FP and HP over 3.8gr set @ 1.440".

I like the 158gr XTP's for carry rounds the most. Rainer is great for plinking though.

I also have found Red Dot useful. Been loading it in 38 special, 9mm Luger and 45 acp. A few years ago 3 1 lb. containers were on the shelf at Cabela's, bought one to try with cast bullets in a 303 British Enfield, a 30-06 03-A3 Springfield and a 7.5 Swiss Schmidt-Rubin . 13 grs. of Red Dot in military rifle with cast bullet is supposed to work well. Haven't tried it in rifle's yet, but like results in handgun loads.
I should have bought all 3 , but I didn't want to be greedy.
