I am picking up a Model 41 (5.5" barrel) and want to mount a dot sight. I have used Holosuns on a number of other pistols with good success.

I am nearing 79 and the old eyes really work better with a reflex sight rather than iron sights.

My 41 is drilled and tapped on top. I need advice on a way to mount the sight as low as I can.

What pic rails are thinner/lower? What mounts are the lowest to get the reflex sight onto the rail?

(A search did not answer my specific questions)

I'm in the same boat , I've had Sig Romeo's routed on some of my S&W's . Send a pm to BMCM or/and Guzzitaco and ask them . They are our go to guys here on the forum , and they DO NOT disappoint !

The model 41 is drilled & taped for a Weaver #62 base. I tried to measure the distance from the bottom of the red dot to the top of the barrel on my model 41 but I had a problem because I didn’t want the calipers to scratch up my pistol. My best guess is about 0.2 inches. I hope this helps.
