Red Dot Site

I will take a red dot over open sights any day. Its funny that all of the competitions I shoot the guys with the red dots always shoot better and faster.

When you reach the age of 40ish, you will shoot better with red dot. Take a look at the line at Camp Perry, and you won't find more than a handfull of competitors that don't have some kind of Red Dot on their gun. If it wasn't fo rthe red dot sight I probably wouldn't be doing any bullseye competition any longer.

Thanks for the input guys appreciated.

Wow! Some great info here. What a helpful thread and a bunch of helpfil folks.

I learned a lot here too.

Thanks

I looked at Midway, #RD00006, which is the Millet 30mm with variable dot of 3-5-8-10 moa size. If I was buying one today I would probably buy this. The one I have is the #459296, 1" tube with 3 moa dot. I would expect the variable one is just as good and probably more versitile. Got mine off the shelf at a local store. I think you will be real satisfied with the RE00006.

Thank you H. Richard,

That is definitely the route I'm heading down. That one and the B-Square Mount, from Midway probably. The S/H isn't all that bad. Oh, and plus, I can keep it from the wife easier that way.

617 set up for Bianchi Rimfire. Millet sight. Wiegand mount. Jerry Miculek Grips. I have been trying out the various red dots, have a Burris Fast Fire, JPoint, Millet, and Bushnell Holosight.

In bright direct Sunlight I like the tube sights. But they are bigger and need a special holster like a Hogue or Safariland.

If light and small, Burris or the equivilent.

By the way do NOT wear Shooting glasse with Polorized lenses, it makes it much harder to see the sights...

Here is an ADCO (China made) from Midway with a Weigand mount from Midway $116 shipped. I liked it so much I bought a second.
