I just received my new sights from Dawson today and the instructions says to put Red Loctite on the rear sight before pushing it into the dovetail. I just don't feel very comfortable with that stuff knowing I am probably not going to get the sight perfectly adjusted the first time. It also says to do the same with the front. What if I was to wait till I have shot the gun, 5" 9mm Pro, then try to wick in Superglue under it? Don

I would first Loctite in the front sight after cleaning contact points with non chlorinated brake cleaner. Just center sight in dovetail.

If rear sight is moderately tight and able to hold for a shot or two or would test fire using scribe marks. Once you get it sighted in against scribe marks then remove, clean contact points and apply Loctite.

If the rear sight is very loose in dovetail might try using weak Loctite - I believe purple is very weak, not sure. Then when get sighted in mark with scribe marks remove clean well and use red Loctite for reassembly. Good luck.

Sounds like a plan I can perfectly center the front before the red Loctite sets up then sight in with the rear and mark it, take it home remove, clean and Loctite it. The set screw should hold it firm enough for the few rounds it will take to sight it in as I will bore sight it at home first. These are Smith and Wesson M&P Charger Tritium Sight Set
For Tactical Shooting. My first set of Tritium sights and looking forward to trying them. My gun was shooting 1.25 inches low at 15yds so hope this is the fix. Don

Well it is a good thing the new sights showed up yesterday as I took my son to the range today and the glow tube fell out of the front sight and got lost. The 5" Pro has one of those plastic tubes in it or I should say did have. Going to look for the wicking Loctite tomorrow and then install the new sights. Thanks for the info everyone. Don

Update. No Loctite of any kind needed it was all I could do to get the rear sight on. Had to file it and just couldn't get the sight pusher to get it shoved in so took the punches that came with the kit, put the slide in a vice and got a big hammer and beat the S*&T out of it. Nothing a black Sharpie couldn't fix. I knew I should have taken it to a smith but to late now. At least it is not going any where. Don
