hello, I am a long time fan of s&w 19 revolvers, I have over the years had a few that were the best shooting most accurate revolvers i have ever seen. so, I jumped at the chance to buy my latest find,- a 19-5 I saw at kiss tactical,-a small local gun shop here in maricopa az. where I was told a widow sold a group of pistols belonging to a departed husband, well, the timing was good, and lock up was tight.but it had been neglected, showing some light surface rust, mostly on the color case Harding of the hammer, & trigger. and there was a scribe marking below the ejector shroud,-mabey a police department id mark of some sort.? - shame, but a trip to the range and it shot great as expected. now I am interested in having it factory refinished. but wonder if. the scribe engraved on the ejector shroud. can be removed.any info will be greatly appreaciated.
