Regarding The Worst Beer Thread From a Few Days Ago

Not really a big beer Guy and I don't care for most of the standard Brews. I've got to say that Bud, Miller, Knickerbocker, Piels, Rhiengold, Ballentine, Schaffer, Pabst, Schlitz, & Genny Cream Ale are on my top 10 all time worst! Yes, I do realize some are no longer available.

My Beer of choice (on the rare occasion I do have one) is Yuengling or Stella Artois. If I drink 2 six packs a year it's a lot - usually only at a BBQ in the heat of the Summer. I find Beer just way too filling and bloating but that's just me. Bourbon and Single Barrel Jack Daniels Sour Mash is my drink of choice.

Any of you old timers who were in Vietnam would have to agree there's really no beer on the planet worse than Ba Muoi Ba, 33. If there is, I haven't tasted it.

33 would knock you on your *** as we found out after out first beer run at Chu Lai. Thankfully I succumbed outside our tent. They knew, they attacked.

In my mis-spent youth there was a bar I would go to on Sunday in Cicero, IL. They would pour us a draft Hamms and give it to us free as a "Sunday" drink. Yeah, me and my cronies were regulars.

$100,000.00 ransom-Namm's must be good!

I am headed out to South Dakota next week for my 22nd or so annual pheasant hunt. I have become very close to the family I hunt with and take them things they might need. Over the past few years, I have given the grandkids 4 shotguns and they are always happy to see me.

They have a "bunkhouse" where some of the hunters stay and they keep beer in there for their guests. For some reason, beer is very expensive in SD and I take it to them for much less. The leader of this operation use to play semi-pro baseball for a team that was sponsored by Hamm's beer. He likes the stuff and I have taken him some for the past few years. A local "mega liquor store" has 30 packs for $9.00. I have been instructed to bring "as much as you have room for".

I am tempted to taste one, but will try and defy the urge.

William Hamm-of the Hamm's brewing company was held for ransom by the Ma Barker gang in Oklawaha, Fl. (near Ocala)where she and a son were killed in a shoot out. 100 G's bought a lot of beer in 1933.

We loaded 4 30 packs into the truck last night. That is 120 cans of beer for $36 plus tax. I may be tempted to try a cold one after we get to South Dakota.

I loved Hamms.

We used to bootleg Coors whenever visiting friends & family back east.

Worst beer "Falstaff" when I was about 13-14 or so me and a child hood friend would sneak a few out of the adults coolers when on camping trips. It didn't take to many of them Falstaff's to get a little silly.
