NRA snub could push Reid closer to Obama on gun control

This article detailed the love/hate relation between Harry Reid and NRA, Reid did not get endorsement from NRA in the 2010 election, and he harbor anger toward them, so from a personal perspective, he may cozy up to DiFi, but the reelection of 6 democrat senators in red state is also haunting him, so anyone from Nevada should contact Reid and pressure him on this issue, Reid will be up for reelection in 2016.

As a gun owner, I welcomed the Supreme Court's decision in District of Columbia v. Heller, which made clear that every law abiding citizen has an individual constitutional right to keep and bear arms. We must work to protect this right by enforcing laws that keep guns away from terrorists and criminals. However, the rights of responsible gun owners should not be compromised by individuals who use firearms to commit crimes. He was endorsed by NRA in the 2012 general election, which I thought stupefying, but did not know the intricacies of that particular race. That ought to have been worth something to him. In any case, bringing all the pressure to bear on him his constituents can certainly can't hurt.

He is a Senator, which faces reelection every 6 years, unlike House of Representatives, which is every 2 years, since he was reelected in 2010, so there was no election for him last year!!! I don't think he is a reliable person on this critical issues. If there are any democrats (or anyone who supported him in the past) from Nevada who believe 2A, please contact and pressure dirty Harry!

This is a money issue for Sen. Reid: we probably have one of the highest concentrations of AK and AR owners in the U.S here in Vegas, as well as distributors/manufacturers of both. We also enjoy the over $60 million the SHOT show pumps into the local and state economies, so failure to defeat this bill would have a very negative affect on our economy and his campaign contributions.

The NRA withheld their 2010 endorsement because of his support of Elena Kagan.

No apologies needed. I'm not putting much faith in Sen. Reid, but it is refreshing that he didn't use the same line some of his democrat colleagues used about "balancing the rights of gun owners with the safety of..." blah blah blah.
