reliable SD ammo for M&P 40c

I'm new to the M&P 40 and would like to benefit from the experience of others with SD ammo in this particular firearm.

1. Does this gun fail to feed or fire any major manufacture's HP ammo?

2. Any highly recommended rounds for the compact version of this weapon for HD/SD use?

I was looking to pick up a couple of boxes of Cor Bon or Federal SD ammo, but I don't want to waste the $$ testing different offerings for feeding, reliability, recoil, accuracy, etc.

Any insight or experiences would be appreciated.

just buy a quality name brand and you should be ok. I would assume defense ammo i believe has a little bit better QC testing than fmj's as they know people's lives will be relying on them.

m&p is a quality pistol and I would trust more name brands.

Any of the premium ammo from the major manufacturers will all give the same end results. But all guns have little differances that require you to test your choice in your gun to be sure.

I recently completed the same search and found that my 40c liked everything I could feed it. I tested a good number of premium/name brands and it simply came down to which shot most accurately out of my gun; it likes Winchester SXT.

Cor-Bon's DPX was a very interesting round. It was pretty accurate and had a noticeably lighter recoil than any of the other rounds; that can be a big selling point in a compact gun. I'm going to give it some more testing and consideration.

My suggestion: buy a box of a few different rounds that you can get your hands on and go with the one you and your 40c like the most. Then run a few boxes of your top pick through it to ensure it will be reliable, as well as for practice and break-in (even if you already think it's broken in, these guns just keep getting better the more they're fired).
