Reloading on Easter?

I try to keep 5 to 6 thousand 410's ready to go. I still have a stash of about 1250 AA Sporting 410's.

About 8 years ago last August, I crashed on my bicycle and hurt my shoulder. I put away the 12- and 20-gauge guns and stuck with 28 and 410. It took a little over a year and a half of shooting, by I got my 410 & 28 average back up to my 12-gauge average, about 75 to 80%.

The weather is about to be Sporting Clay Season In Ohio!

Nothing wrong with a little 410 case if you can "Pop" the clay before it gets
out at 40 yards or so.

Longer shots can be done but you had better be using 7.5's in a 3" hull.

I only have a old Winchester M12 pump for my trap and field use, unlike
some of you shooters that have a super nice O/U with all the bells and whistles.

Have a super fun summer, this year.

As I "mature", I find my 12 gauges to be a bit more than I prefer to shoulder. I have a very nice 16 gauge Baker side lock double that is still suitable. Looking for a nice 20 gauge side lock double for when I retire the 16. Baker did not make many, if any. I may have to settle for an L C Smith.

I started shooting 410 in 2005 using 3" 7.5's. I loaded that for several years, When I got the progressive, I went to 2.5". I gave my friend all the 3: hulls, must have been 3000 of them!

I think I cleared out all the warehouses of AA HS Sporting. My hulls are getting shot out, so I'll have to hit the secret stash! But even at 800 rounds per bag of shot, my reserves of that and W209 primers are getting low. And a little over 350 to the pound of WW296/H110, If they don't start making 410 AA's soon. I'll be don't until they do!

My wife and I are chomping at the bit to get out and shoot some clays, but this damn rain won't stop. Can't remember a March and April being this wet in my lifetime. Anxious to get to reloading as well but won't have any empty hulls until we get out and shoot a few boxes. Enjoy your Easter! Hope your guests don't overstay their welcome :D
