Auto Comp is a slow burning powder designed for optimum function in compensated USPSA Open class semi-auto's. I purchased a 4lb container of W-231 several months ago. I have not heard anything about W-231 being discontinued. It is alleged that Hodgdon HP-38 is the same powder as W-231. The data on Hodgdons website looks virtually identical for W-231 and HP-38.
