I just bought a Black Friday leftover Remington 700 BDL 30/06 from Walmart for $377.00. Hardly no one puts iron sights on their walnut stocked bolt guns any more and though I'll use a scope, I like the backup ability and the looks of open sights so I was pretty happy with this find and it also has some beautiful wood. I now want to scope it with quick detachable rings mounted as low to the bore as possible and am planning on a Leupold 2-7X 33 m/m scope, anyone know of of some low rings that will barely fit a 33 m/m scope?

I bought steel EGW rail for my R 700 in .308 and med Weaver Tact rings. Not quick release tho.

0 issues so far.

No matter if 1" or 30mm tube, the Leupold QRW rings should work perfectly.

Nice pick up. Great scope choice, I currently have one mounted and had one on a 7 mag for years. About any low set up like your looking for should get it down. I am thinking I may have had to do an extended mount setup on one gun to get enough eye relief because the scope is a little shorter. You might measure before you buy the mounts/rings.

I've had bad experiences with the Leupold Weaver type QD rings.

The recoil lug wasn't secured and would fall out. The feloow I spoke with at Leupold said it was common and sent me several extra for free. No more Leupold Weaver type QD's for me.

The Warne are superior in every way to the Leupold I've used. While not as robust as the Warne the Burris are much easier on the eyes and work great as well.
