The president of our local shooting association recently mentioned he had a 1911 A1 Remington Rand, and I asked him to bring it along so I could take a few pics.

It has a patina to it, some might even say serious wear, a little pitting here and there (maybe rust points were rubbed off, hence reducing the finish), a few scars and mismatched grips.

Very nice looking Remington Rand. Looks like it was made in 1945. That holster is a very nice addition making it a desirable package. The patina, rub marks, and overall condition indicate its had 70 + years of use, but all of that is to be expected.

In my part of the USA that pistol/holster would probably be priced, by a deale,r at $1400- 1600 USD and a private party sale about $400 less.

Thank you for sharing it with us.

Mainspring housing looks to not be Rem. Rand. Well before this pistols production date Remington Rand went to the 8-vertical rib mainspring housing. Try Coolgunsite.com and look at the ID pages. Tells you all you need to know.
