Remington UMC Target

It all sounds cheap by today's standards but wages were a lot lower then also, so factory ammo was still relatively expensive. I could reload for about a buck a box with jacketed bullets which sure beat $6-8 a box.

@ArchAngelCD Have you bought ammo in the past couple of years...9mm for under 10 a box us usually pretty decent...I suppose i'm not old enough to remember when ammo was ridiculously cheap.
You don't have to be all that old to remember ammo at a better price. Before 2008 a box of 9mm ammo was usually ~$6 a box and you can get a case on sale for $49.50. (500 rounds Remington UMC)

All I was saying is, I have seen 9mm ammo at or below that price on sale lately (S&B 115gr FMJ) and that's why I said it wasn't all that great. But no, I haven't bought ammo over the past few years other than some carry ammo. I load most of my ammo because I wouldn't be able to shoot if I didn't, can't afford it.

I shot 100 rounds at the range yesterday of UMC 45 cal, 230 gr. Only complaint I have with it is it is that it is dirty, going to take a little extra elbow grease and hoppes#9. Goes bang every time and ejects just fine.

The Federal Champion in 9mm at Walmart will run about 19.98 for the 100 pack and I have not had any trouble with it so far. It would be a good ideal to be friend the counter person there, so they can give you the heads up on when it will be in. if not they go fast, 10 boxes gone in like 5 hours.
