Does anyone carry their Shield 9mm in a Remora holster? If so, how do you like it. seems it would be an easy holster to take in and out of your waist band.

I sometimes carry my shield in a remora when I don't have a belt to wear my IWB kydex holster. The remora is fine in a pinch but not the most secure or easiest to draw from IMO.

Not for a Shield, but do use a Remora

I carry a Kel-Tec P11 in a Remora and really like it. Very secure worn on strong side hip, and like you say, very easy to take on and off (or in and out, I guess). I've been looking to trade the P11 for a Shield, but will definitely keep using the Remora! I've even carried in elastic waistband shorts, under a t-shirt and it doesn't move. The Shield is a bit heavier, so might need stiffer pants and/or a belt to supply some pressure, but it doesn't need much.

Hi,

I have the "Sticky" Holster which I believe is similar to the Remora holster, except that the Sticky Holster is slightly thinner. I don;t carry my Shield 9 in it all the time, but for quick application, appendix carry around town, it's very good and comfortable.

If you search in the M&P forum here on this board for the words "Shield" and "Remora," you'll be pleased with the amount of reading you can do. Trust me on this. :)

Yep, lots of info on this subject. I carry my Shield most of the time in my Remora. However, I like my Supertuck as much and switch often between the two. Some days the Remora (with full sweat shield) is a little uncomfortable for whatever reason. The Supertuck is ALWAYS comfortable but gets in the way some times like laying on the couch (one example). Owning a Remora is a plus in my book - easiest way to explain it.

Have tried both the remora and sticky brand holsters. Both do the job.

I will say it's not my primary method of carry, as I like something that attaches to the belt most of the time, but I still use them for a quick run to the store or to take the dog out in the evening.

First tried the remora, but for me the material irritated the skin under the holster after wearing it a while. Not a slam against remora, and judging by the positive responses about them I'd guess the irritation thing is probably a low percentage.

Next I tried the sticky and had no irritation issues, so I 'stuck' with them.

Another item for the remora holster is theirs can be had in multiple configurations, ie, reinforced mouth or tuck-able and so on. The sticky holster is available in only one style, a non-reinforced pouch with no other configuration options.

I own and use the Remora IWB with full sweat shield with my 9C, along with a Foxx IWB hybrid holster. The Remora does well with retention and ease of carry (putting on and taking off, and works well with shorts and no belt). Perhaps some rubbing on skin at times, but usually ok if you have an undershirt. I've used the Remora on long motorcycle rides and it stays put and I sometimes forget it is there. The Foxx is more comfortable but does poke me a bit when sitting or driving. Bottom line is I use the Remora more, and satisfied with the product.

The Remora with my Shield is nice, especially when i need extra concealment with no clips showing on my waistband, but that is also the downside. I much prefer my kydex/leather IWB over the Remora, so it's been put down to my last resort carry holster. But i think still worth the purchase.

I have a Sticky Remora for summertime pocket carry in my cargo shorts. I also have a IWB holster as well

I use my Remora only in the summer. However, for summer carry, I have been relying more on my 642 for pocket carry (with a Don Hume holster). So, my Shield rides mostly in my car glove compartment (in the Remora), and for quick trips into a store or something, I will stick it in the waistband. However, I have little confidence in the Remora being a good holster for IWB for several hours or all day.
When the cooler weather arrives, I'll be back in jeans and using my Winthrop IWB holster for the Shield.

I bought a Remora with the sweat shield for my Shield and I have to say I was disappointed. Drawing the weapon out of the holster was next to impossible because it was so tight. I read a post somewhere that said the sweatshield makes it too tight and I agree. Unfortunately, I read that post after I already had my Remora and was wondering if they had sent the wrong one.

I use a PJ Holster for IWB and love it. The Remora was for pocket carry and it's being replaced by a Recluse which lets me draw from my front pocket very easily.
