Renaissance Wax...

I have a question regarding Renaissance Wax...my guns are stainless, and one is a painted aluminum 642. Will it work on those finishes? Also, I've got a parkarized 1911...it probably wouldn't work on parkarized, right? Thanks, B

In my experience, it works well on stainless guns. Painted I do not have, but with the understanding that it has great properties on most every surface, I would not hesitate to use it on any firearm surface.....if you don't feel comfortable using it, then test it on an inconspicuous area for verification.
Everyone of my firearms gets RW wax, from revolvers to autos to shotguns and rifles, metal and wood. I like the stuff and it seems to work well for my purposes.
YMMV.

Wow! That must have taken some time...I wish I had one that looked that nice! Beautiful!!! Thanks for sharing, B

We use it at the gunsmithing school I go to. It leaves a nice clean look when applied. Tru oil also makes a wax that costs a tenth of the cost that I hear is just as good. One thing to think about for using it on a carry gun is build up in your holster.

I have used wax on all my firearms for over 30 years. I used it on my duty arms that were carried every day in all kinds of weather, never any problem. I waxed my duty weapons every time the weather was bad and put a light coat on them every week. I have used Birchwood caseys for years then swith over to Ace Hardware's Tree wax and Ren wax. All three work for me.,
