I would be looking for a 2" Model 19-(something up to a 5)
Hey OP,
Yep, I read the 357mag, but
I thought pretty might win over caliber.
Just as well, as it would be difficult to find a Diamondback for $1200.
For the money, the Security Six, is hard to beat. Tough as nails and can shoot hot 357mag all day long. It is a working man's gun. The S&W 19 and 66 are a gentleman's gun.
The Smith's double action DA smoothness is hard to beat.
Ruger's are somewhat easier to work on.
Colt Pythons may be a little large or heavy for you. I like their 3 5 7 model (that's read three five seven) and it is still reasonably priced. It came a couple of years before the Python.
What wonderful options await your decision (sweet agony). Hard to go wrong.
