I haven't posted in a while as I have been playing more golf than shooting but decided to get an M&P 15-22 to shoot economically. I love shooting my 5.56 M&P but it can get expensive. I went to my LGS's Black Friday sale and got the 15-22 with the 4x scope and bi-pod for $339. (The bare model was over $400) I also decided to get a Holosun red dot sight. After sighting in and shooting a good bit I remembered I had a black Hogue pistol grip and decided to put it on. I pulled the OEM grip off and noticed the usual safety spring and another hole towards the back. After checking out a YouTube video I realized there is one additional spring and detent than a regular AR but did not see either when I removed the OEM grip. Thankfully I was able to find both with a brief search of my workbench and floor underneath. I had to make a small hole in the Hogue grip to get it to accommodate the additional spring. I say all this to warn others to be more careful than I was when replacing a pistol grip.

It is also very important to warn anyone attempting to replace the grip to remember the lower is plastic. Be very careful to not over tighten the grip bolt. It will strip easily. I know. A helicoil corrected my mistake of stripping the plastic threads.
