Anyone know if S&W is developing a new line to replace the M&P? The M&P line is approaching 12 years old. I was curious if anyone heard any credible or non-credible info about any new line?
First, there's nothing wrong with the barrel. Second, S&W makes thousands of guns with better triggers already. All you have to do is pay more.Something with a better trigger and barrel would be great.

It cracks me up. People buy a cheap gun and then complain the trigger isn't perfect. Yes, there are less expensive guns, but the M&P line is the best quality gun at that price.
If you add an Apex upgrade, the average price of an M&P comes to about $600-$650. That's an amazing price for a very good gun.
Something with a better trigger and barrel would be great. I like the looks and feel of the M&P 9. I just wish they upgraded those two things. It sucks after you buy a new gun, you have to drop money on trigger parts and are risking a defective barrel. With all of the striker guns on the market now, you would think S&W would up their game.
And then, there is this. . . .
Seriously? Why would they do that?
I mean, I'm sure S&W has some plans for a new gun, but they're not going to stop the M&P. The Shield is probably the best selling handgun on the market. They just introduced the .45 Shield. What makes you think they need to replace the M&P line?
The number of people that complain about the M&P trigger and accuracy continues to amaze me.
First off, it's a striker fired combat weapon. It's not a match tuned 1911. The trigger will never be as good. You choose to drop additional money on parts to improve the trigger. I shot a DA revolver for over 40 years and have no complaints with the trigger as issued.
As far as accuracy is concerned, again, it's a combat gun. If I want tiny groups, I'll shoot my tuned 1911.
